Meet Our Founder
Some things you build.
Some things build you.
HBCUOnly is both for me.
I stepped on the yard at Tuskegee University in 2001 on a football scholarship, young and hungry, trying to find my place. A year later, life shifted—and so did I. I transferred to Tennessee State University in 2002 on a track scholarship, where I learned what it meant to move with purpose, discipline, and pride.
Those campuses didn’t just educate me—they shaped me. The culture, the bands, the homecomings, the conversations, the feeling of being surrounded by Black excellence… that stays with you. It never leaves.
So when I say HBCUOnly is personal, I mean that.
It started with a simple realization: we celebrate everything—but we didn’t have enough products that truly captured us. Our energy. Our pride. Our story. I wanted to create something that felt like the yard… even when you’re miles away from it.
HBCUOnly became my way of staying connected—to my alma maters, to the culture, to the experiences that made me. It’s not just a business. It’s legacy work. It’s pouring back into the community that poured into me.
Every product, every partnership, every detail—it’s intentional. It’s about giving Black alumni and supporters something they can feel. Something they can wear, carry, and stand in.
Because this isn’t just about merchandise.
It’s about making sure our culture is seen, celebrated, and remembered—on our terms.
